Masca del Tacco, Lu Ceppu Negroamaro, Puglia, Italy
Sorry - Out of stock
Intense ruby red, with beautiful brightness and structure. Intense nose on blackberry tones, cherries in alcohol, aromatic herbs, red currant flower, fern and a spicy and balsamic air. In the mouth it is soft, structured, juicy, fresh and delicately tannic with a very long persistence.
Try with Ham, first courses of pasta with ragù, risotto with salsiccia, lamb and pork, medium aged cheeses, or by itself.

This wine is in the luxury class, produced according to the selection motto "the best of the best".
By selecting the best grapes from the best fields in the winery's extensive holdings, hand-sorting the harvest and maturing the wine in the best French casks, they have created an overwhelmingly rich and complexly composed wine that ranks at the very top of its appellation.
Lu Ceppu is made from 100% Negroamaro from old vines. Negroamaro means "black and bitter", and it produces wines with considerably more structure and elegance than Puglia's other great grape, Primitivo. The wine is aged in new French oak barrels for 12 months and is bottled unfiltered. The very dark wine offers a deep bouquet of ripe berries, earth, pipe tobacco and minerals. The taste is full and velvety with a clearly defined complexity and a finesse that is light years away from all prejudices about sunny southern Italian wine.
Try with Ham, first courses of pasta with ragù, risotto with salsiccia, lamb and pork, medium aged cheeses, or by itself.
