Odfjell Aliara 2015, Valle Central, Chile

A blend of Carignan, Malbec and Syrah. Deep violet in color. The nose is attractive and intense with a range of aromas from the different varieties in the blend, including nuts such as hazelnuts, dates and dried figs, as well as floral notes recalling jasmin and roses.

The Palate is sophisticated, intense and juicy and complemented by chocolate, coffee and tobacco leaves. The finish is long and ripe with velvety tannins. An unforgetable experience.

An artistic creation in which the winemaker sets no limits in combining New and Old World. Three or more varieties from three different valleys are harmoniously merged together to create this superior blend that reflects the best expression of each of Odfjell’s vineyards. It is crafted with a selection of the year’s best lots and barrels. A high-end wine that ages to a perfect assemblage in the bottle. A classic. Winemaking: The grapes were handpicked using 15-kg trays and 400-kg bins. Upon reception at the winery, the bunches were destemmed but not crushed. The whole berries underwent a six-day cold maceration at 14ºC prior to fermentation using native and selected yeasts in small tanks ranging from 1,000 L (T bins) to 10,000 L, followed by a 15-day post-fermentation maceration at 25ºC. Malolactic fermentation took place spontaneously in barrels.
